A Creativity New Deal
for Arts, Culture & Creative Industries

WHAT IF THE 'CREATIVE INDUSTRIES' WERE SEEN AS THE CRITICAL HUMAN EXPERIENCE INFRASTRUCTURE THAT BRIDGES ALL SECTORS TO THE FUTURE OF WORK?

As part of a year of discovery for Creativity America, this question was explored through the WonderWoot experience. Crafted by Theo Edmonds, WonderWoots are bespoke “small batch” experiences designed to start small and grow over time as always-evolving storytelling labs of courageous imagination.

WonderWoots blend the diverse perspectives of artists, scientists, contemplatives, and entrepreneurs to discover acts of Culture Futurism — vivid journeys centered on the four main axis points of the Wondervation Wheel™ — WONDER, TRUST, BEAUTY, and JOY.

This neuroscience-inspired experience allows any organization or industry, no matter what sector, to investigate its relationship to the emerging edge of innovation in arts, culture, and creative industries in America.

REFLECTIONS FROM WONDERWOOT PARTICIPANTS

I believe the future of our species hinges on our ability to delve deeper into the profound layers of our innate creativity. As we navigate the intricate tapestry of existence, our capacity to further unravel, explore, and leverage its complexities and power is imperative. Creativity America is focused on making this happen, ensuring a brighter horizon for our nation and all of humanity. ~ Torrie Allen, President & CEO, Arts Midwest & BOD Americans for the Arts

WonderWoot's strength is bringing people together who serve in different roles from different sectors toward the promise of creativity. This is a powerful start to working across silos to start asking the right questions as individuals and as a society to find holistic, integrated solutions. ~ Maryrose Flanigan, Executive Director at The Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities

It is high time that Americans recognize, value, and measure creativity in our places of work and the communities where we live. This is especially necessary in small towns where small businesses are the primary drivers of local economic activity. Creativity America is drawing a straight line from curiosity and awe to increased economic mobility and hope. ~ Brad Clark, Edelen Renewables, Director of Workforce Solutions

Imagine the last time you gave yourself permission to create something as an expression of yourself. Now imagine the joy and the impact that would occur if you were free to unlock that part of yourself at work. Imagine the problems that might be solved. This work is bringing us there. ~ Chelsea Rosty, Chief Of Staff · Denver Economic Development & Opportunity
